What is Flyball?
Flyball is a fast and exciting dog sport that is perfect for any ball loving dogs.
It consists of a sprint up a line of 4 hurdles and at the end there is a box which shoots out a ball when the dog pushes the pressure pad. The dog must catch the ball and then make their way back up the line of hurdles and back to their handler. The next dog will then go.
Flyball Teams have a seed time which places them in the right division at a competition. They race against teams with a similar seed time. Teams race against each team in their division and the winning team is the one who has won the most races. In the event of two teams having won the same amount of races, the winner is the team who had the fastest time. Teams are made up of 6 handlers and their dogs and a box loader. 4 dogs race in each heat.
Two Bridges train at Fitzworthy Equestrian Centre, Corntown near Ivybridge, Devon. We were the first team from Devon to attend the BFA Championships and return there every year. Originating in 2014, we have been training for 10 years and competing for 8 years.
Two Bridges is part of the British Flyball Association and UK Flyball League and we aim to create fast and reliable team members. Members of the club must show patience towards their dog and understanding in the sport. We do not wish to rush into the sport as there is a lot of foundation work that needs to be done before dogs can start to show consistency in the way they complete the course.
This year- 2025, we have 3 Open competition teams. Two Bridges Turbos, Two Bridges Torpedoes and Two Bridges Tearaways. The clubs best time is 18.62 seconds.
Membership to Two Bridges is £20 for the year should be paid before your first session. Prices for courses are on the courses/prices page.
